A few words from the Co-Presidents!

We have enjoyed yet another AMAZING season! I cannot thank our coaches enough. As a group, they share a record of success that is unbelievable. Think about it - our coaches have guided our children to achieving State Championship status. Not only have they done that in 2006 - this is the 20th consecutive time! Teaching our children to face the adversities of life, placing athletic achievement in proper perspective and turning children into Champions -- these are the remarkable accomplishments of Rich Finkelstein and his dedicated crew!

States was hosted by the Buffalo area YMCA's and was held at the Erie Community Flickinger Aquatic Center . As usual, we had booked rooms in a convenient hotel. The team's advance planning was essential to ensuring us comfortable accomadations. Thanks, Rich! States once again proved to be the highlight of the season for our entire team. It was great to root for all of the competitors, especially the FLYERS!

As you know, States will be hosted by our team, with an assist from the Huntington YMCA in 2008. We look forward to return the hospitality of the other area "Y's". This will require all of us to put forth a lot of work - but - our children are worth it. One thing is certain - the dedication of the coaching staff will cause our swimmers to be ready. Let's clear the calendars and be ready too!

Many of the area's teams include members of the Flushing Flyers. Often the winning team seems to be the one with the most Flyers! We encourage our swimmers to participate on their High School teams. You may find the article from Splash (linked below) to be interesting.
