Thanksgiving is here. It is a time to look back on this past year and be thankful for the many wonderful things that we have. We should reflect on where we have been and where we are going. While still feeling the effects of the tragic accident at states, we continue to move forward and deal with it the best we can. Many are less fortunate than we are and we should take nothing for granted. Anything we can do to bring a smile to someone's face is appreciated at this time of year. We are rich in talent, not only in the water, but out. Think of all you have accomplished this year, be it in school, at work, personally or professionally. Be happy but don't be satisfied. If you are not happy with the way things are going do something to change it. No one will make it happen but you. Take a few moments out each day to think about your goals and then act accordingly. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and may it be everything you want it to be and more.
Weekend workouts for Richie's group begin at 6:30 in the morning. Please make sure your swimmer is at the “Y” by 6:15 a.m. There are now extended workouts at the “Y” on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Everyone is expected to stay until 7 PM . Thank you for your cooperation.
Our first four home meets are behind us. They have all been successful due to a great commitment by most families. Some were pressed into extra service and for that we thank and commend them. This is a reminder that one member from every family is required to work at our home meets or get a replacement whether their child is swimming or not. A phone call in advance to your committee chairperson is required if you can't make the meet.
Alumni news – We have heard from or about all our recent graduates. They are doing well so far at their respective Colleges. One special note – Andrea DeLaTorre was freshman of the week two weeks ago going undefeated in dual meet competition.
Health reminders – Dress warm, dry your hair and ears after practice, wear a hat, gloves, scarf and jacket. Don't share drinks, eat correctly, get your iron count checked if you feel weak, keep your distance from people that are sneezing or coughing and get extra rest whenever you can.
School reminders – Make sure you are staying on top of your school work. If you need help in anything, let your coach know.
Holiday party information will be posted soon and a paper will be going home soon about buses for Y States.
